Artificial intelligence is gradually causing more and more jobs to be automated. This trend will accelerate dramatically when AGI or human level AI is created, which many estimates put at less than five years away. So actually, most people will have their jobs automated within a fairly short time span. This video discusses how you can stay in the labor force as long as you would like to during this transition period.
We focus on a discussion of different types of intelligence. According to multiple intelligences theory, humans have at least nine types of intelligence. Machines are only good at three or four of those at the moment. Doubling down on improving your most skilled form of intelligence is traditional job advice, but you can also start developing skills in another area. Either should lead to enhanced job options.
It's important to continue to invest in yourself. Give yourself the time to improve. Give yourself the time to increase life satisfaction and do more of what's important to you. We discuss the most common form of investment, getting an advanced degree, which could still make sense in some circumstances even now. There are also many other self-improvement vectors to consider.
