Radiologic technologists, also known as radiographers, perform diagnostic imaging examinations, such as x-rays, on patients. The job outlook is expected to grow by 12% in the next ten years, and the 2017 median pay is $58,440. Learn to become a radiologic technologist in just two years by enrolling in Montgomery College's Radiologic Technology program.
The mission of the Radiologic (X-Ray) Technology Program parallels the mission of MC. Students who enter and complete the Radiologic Technology Program are empowered to change their own lives as well as enrich the life of the local and global community as skilled, critically thinking, competent radiographers who possess integrity, accountability, empathy, a strong commitment to excellent customer service, and patient care skills while serving a diverse community.
This is a two-year program. Students begin in the summer for nine weeks (summer session), then complete fall (15 weeks) and spring (15 weeks) semesters for their first year. Students attend a second nine week summer session as they transition to their second year. They complete the program with a fall (15 week) and a spring (15 week) semester, and graduate in May. Please note that there are general education credits required for the AAS degree awarded for completion of this program.
