The Law and Public Safety program explores the basic skills used in patrol functions, defensive tactics, use of force and first aid. Students will learn constitutional law, forensic science, first aid / CPR, and more.

Apart from the core curriculum, learners are trained for the job-seeking process through mock interviews, resume building workshops and job shadowing. During the program, accommodations and modifications are provided to high school students based on the IEP/504.

After completion of the two-year program, successful candidates will be prepared to seek one or more certifications like the American Heart Association CPR/AED and the FEMA Incident Command System Certifications. Moreover, West-MEC offers most industry credential tests at no additional cost. Through the focus on public safety, corrections and law, students are provided a unique and meaningful career pathway.
