West-MEC’s Energy and Engineering Technology Program is completed in two years. It explores the fields of electricity, electronics, instrumentation & controls, mechanical systems, industrial skills, and power skills. Aside from the core-curriculum, students are trained for the job-seeking process through industry guest speakers and school-based enterprise. During the program, accommodations and modifications are provided to high school students based on the IEP/504.
Once students have accomplished the program, successful candidates will be guided and taught to seek one or more certifications like the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) and OSHA-10 General. In fact, West-MEC offers industry credential tests without additional cost. Through the Energy and Engineering Technology program, students are provided a pathway to economic independence.
